Product Description
The 1.7m frame is the right call when the job calls for real height — front boundary gates, commercial entries, and residential applications where privacy and security are as important as the gate itself. At 4.8m wide with a 300mm tail, it covers standard double-width driveways and wider openings without needing a custom-width solution.
Built from 3mm aluminium throughout, it’s lighter than an equivalent steel frame and won’t rust or corrode over time. The 100×50mm bottom rail handles the load at the base, while the 50×50mm top and side rails keep the frame square and rigid across its full height.
The frame arrives raw and uncoated, ready to clad with your preferred infill — Colorbond sheeting, timber palings, aluminium battens or slats, decorative screens, and more. Paint or powder coat after cladding to match the fence line or the client’s colour spec.
The channel is pre-welded to the back of the top rail, so your sliding block hardware fits straight in without any modification on site.
Every frame is fabricated to order at our workshop in Virginia, North Brisbane, and dispatched completely welded. No site assembly required.

FAQ
What can I clad this frame with?
The frame accepts most standard infill materials — Colorbond sheeting, timber palings, aluminium battens, decorative screens, and PVC fencing products. Confirm internal frame dimensions with your cladding supplier before ordering.
Can this frame be automated?
Yes. The channel welded to the back of the top rail is designed for a sliding block, compatible with most sliding gate automation systems. A hardware kit and motor are purchased separately.
What hardware do I need?
A sliding gate hardware kit is required — covering roller wheels, guide rollers, and stoppers. Given the height and weight of this frame once clad, confirm your hardware selection is rated for the expected gate weight. Hardware kits are available separately in our store.
Can the frame be powder coated?
Yes. Supplied in raw (uncoated) aluminium, the frame is ready to paint or powder coat after cladding to any colour.
What post size is recommended?
A minimum 100×100mm post is a common starting point, but at 1.7m tall the post spec becomes more important — footing depth, gate weight once clad, wind exposure, and whether the gate will be automated all affect the right choice. Have your installer confirm before you order.
