Product Description

This aluminium sliding gate frame gives you a solid, weld-fabricated starting point for any residential or commercial sliding gate project. At 4.8m wide with a 300mm tail, it suits standard double-width driveways and wider property entries. The heavier 100×50mm bottom rail adds rigidity at the base, while the 50×50mm top and side rails keep overall weight down without compromising structural strength.

Supplied raw and uncoated, the frame is ready to clad with your preferred infill material, whether that’s Colorbond sheeting, timber palings, aluminium battens or slats, decorative screens and more. Once clad, it can be painted or powder coated to match your project.

The channel welded to the back of the top rail is already in place for your sliding block hardware, so there’s no drilling or modification needed on site.

Fabricated at our workshop in Virginia, North Brisbane. Each frame is built to order and completely welded before dispatch. No onsite assembly or rivets required.

Installation Notes

Confirm your opening width, post setup, and intended infill material before ordering. All frames are made to order and cannot be returned once fabrication has commenced.

FAQ

What can I clad this frame with?

The frame is compatible with most standard infill materials including Colorbond sheeting, timber palings, aluminium battens, decorative screens, and PVC fencing products. The internal frame dimensions will determine batten or sheet sizing, confirm these with your supplier before ordering your cladding.

Can this frame be automated?

Yes. The channel welded to the back of the top rail is designed for a sliding block, which is compatible with most sliding gate automation systems. You’ll need to purchase a hardware kit and motor separately.

What hardware do I need?

You’ll need a sliding gate hardware kit. This includes the roller wheels, guide rollers, and stoppers needed to hang and operate the gate. Hardware kits are available separately in our store.

Can the frame be powder coated?

Yes. The frame is supplied raw (uncoated aluminium), which makes it easy to paint or powder coat after cladding.

What post size is recommended?

A minimum 100×100mm post is commonly used for standard installations. However, final post size, footing and fixing requirements should be confirmed by your installer or fencing contractor based on your site conditions and local requirements. (These can vary depending on gate size and weight, wind exposure, automation, soil conditions and site layout.)
