People ask us about measuring and installation fairly regularly. It makes sense. You've found the gate or privacy screen you want, the next logical question is: can you install too?
The short answer is no, we don’t offer measuring or installation at Top Screens. There are a number of reasons we’ve made that decision...
We are Manufacturers not Installers
Top Screens specialises in custom aluminium fabrication. We fabricate custom gates, fence panels, privacy screens, and gate frames to order.
Fabrication/Manufacturing is a different trade to Installation and Building. Manufacturing an aluminium product uses a different set of skills to setting posts, checking levels, running concrete and fixing panels to a structure.
We specialise in what we do best: manufacturing high-quality aluminium gates, screens and panels, delivered on time and built exactly to spec.
What This Means for Our Customers
We recommend you source your own professional installer for our aluminium products. That way, you’re in control of who does the work. You’re not locked into anything with us except collecting your finished aluminium product from our North Brisbane warehouse.
Who Installs Our Gates, Fences, and Screens?
The following customers are all capable when it comes to installing our aluminium products:
PVC Fencing Companies
If you run a PVC fencing business, we supply aluminium sliding and swing gate frames that are fully welded and routered to suit PVC materials and your product range. No onsite fabrication and no rivets.
Fence Contractors and Installers
If you're a fencing contractor who regularly quotes gate and screen work, we're worth having in your corner as a supplier. Our products come fully welded and fabricated to your custom specifications. Everything is ready to go when it arrives on site - no assembly, on-site cutting or welding needed.
Handymen
Replacing fence panels, putting in a new gate, and adding a privacy screen to a deck are well within the scope of a competent handyman. Our frames, gates, panels, and screens are fully routered and welded, with posts and hardware available if needed. Homeowners buying our aluminium products will often enlist the help of an experienced handyman for the installation stage.
Experienced DIY Homeowners
This one comes with an honest caveat: DIY installation is absolutely possible, but it suits people who are hands-on and have thoroughly researched the process before the product arrives. You’ll need to provide the exact measurements of the product for fabrication, as we don’t offer refunds or returns. If you’re confident with the measuring process, sizing of posts, taking into consideration tolerances for hardware, any concreting required plus the actual installation, you should be good to carry this out on your own. We’d recommend a second pair of hands to help you.
The Top Screens Process
1. Get a quote for your custom aluminium product through our Custom Quote form or order directly from our Online Shop
2. Once we have received your order, we will advise turnaround time (roughly 2-3 weeks depending on the size of the job but we’ll communicate that to you clearly)
3. You collect from our warehouse in Virginia, North Brisbane (or we can quote on delivery to Brisbane suburbs)
4. Once you have received your gate, fence panel or privacy screen, it’s over to your installer. The product is ready to install - no onsite fabrication required, but in some cases, assembly might be necessary. Either way, there will be no surprises on site.
